First time this year

If it comforts you more times then not my mornings are silent this year and that's never been the case in a long career playing this game
 
Went this morning to take a friend. Heard 2 birds start up at 5:05. Never made a call till they flew down at 6:20. 6:30 the bottom fell out and I got soaked quick.they probably each gobbled 50 -60 time in that period.
 
Know a guy that killed one at 5:28 this morning. Said it was one of 6 longbeards roosted together. Bird came in running to the call.
 
Heard 6 different birds this morning. Tried to make a move on em and didn't have enough time. They were cutting me off when I called but didn't even head one bit in my direction. Would move down to them and still wouldn't come. There was 3 gobblers together in that bunch. Saw em a couple hundred yards off. Probably could've had more luck if I didn't have to pull daddy duty. They were fired up big time tho.

Didn't hear or get on any turkeys this morning, but had a good bear cut the forest road I was walking up at less than 20 steps before daylight. Got just inside the woods and went to popping teeth. I eased by another 100 yards to my "listening" spot. Bear stayed around me all morning raking acorns.

That's when I would of turned around and walked back to my truck. Lol
 
Trying to get my son one and we got to the woods just after 1:00. Bird started gobbling and did so until 5:30 when we threw in the towel. We got close several times but not close enough. Going back tomorrow afternoon and hopefully can seal the deal.
