i got up this morning and saw it was raining cats and dogs outside so , i turned alarm of and go back to bed. as soon as i lay back down my brother in law called saying he was on his way hunting , i said naw man i aint going
well i was awake by then so i got online to check radar and it looked like it was moving out and that got me to thinking ! well i didnt jump right away , made coffee chilled out and watched a little tv (trying to catch more weather reports) i finished my coffee .
and no sooner than i make a post or two on here , it quit raining outside
. i jump up get ready and head out the door got to my spot after daylight not hearing any birds i keep walking ,well see another guy in a blind up ahead so (john tully wma) i back out, a little frustrated i go back to the truck .
well go to a few other spots didnt hear any birds , so went to a food plot not far off the road set out decoys and set up . after making some calls and sitting there for about 30 minutes i thought i heard a gobble! but it was real faint wasnt real sure it was a gobble the wind was so bad . well after about 30 more mins and a little more calling it was raining again and here i am sitting in it thinking i am crazy and actually thinking about going home
as i look around the field i see nothing i turn to look be hind me from where i thought i heard the turkey gobble earlier AND THERE HE WAS !! my heart dropped ! all i seen was beard and red head ! well he was dang near on top of me and iam wondering how iam going to get around on him and also praying for this not to happen again to me well i think i see my chance and move just slightly and he catches me
he gets nervous and starts to walk off :cry: well iam thinking this aint going to happen like this this morning and as he is leaving hes at a good pace i turn around then and he really started to gettin it i got a bead on him and rolled him like a rabbit at about 40 yards !! needs less to say i jumped up and ran to him yelling yes yes yes ,, ive killed a lot of deer but never have had that kinda feelin before any way heres the pics
