I am thinkigng about taking my 8yr old daughter out tonight for jugfishing and to watch the meteor shower on Lake Chickamauga in Rhea Co. I will prolly wake her up at around 12ish and we will prolly fish for no longer than 2hr. She loves to jugfish, and I don't think that we will even take any poles along. I haven't hadany luck jugfishing yet this year during the day, and have tried different baits and spots in my area. Would you catfishermen reccomend putting out jugs in the main channel, in slough mouths, up in sloughs/creeks, etc,for the best action? We will be using raw chicken for bait.

Thanks in advance, Ryan

Thanks for the reponse, Kenbob

Do you know how deep they were? I normally only let mine go to 6' at most, but like ot keep them a bit shallower to avoid hangups on underwater brush.

That's a little further up the river than I was planning on runningin light of the time that we will have, but I can see why that would be a productive area with the bluffs.

Well, the only showers that we saw were rain showers, but we caught 4 catfish in around 2.5hr of jugfishing, and they were good sized, too: 2lb., 10lb, 11lb., 12.5lb. I figured that was pretty good in light of there not being ANY current; in fact, our jugs were getting windblown out of position upriver, instead of flowing downriver past the rocks. It was a memorable night, even if I was filleting fish until almost 5am, and only got around 3hr of sleep last night.
