Well. My mind was wandering again today. I wanna hear from all the fixed blade guys that are still out there. I have been shooting the muzzy mx3s for a while and feel like dumping 40 bucks into some New bhs. I was thinking about switching to a magnus style head.....yay or nay?

I have used the magnus buzzcuts 4 blade with good results. In the end, if you put it in the right place, it'll kill a deer. I personally use Ramcat 125 gr. Head out penetrated every head (fixed and Mechanical) at the 2011 ATA show I went to. And they do seriously damage to a deer. I just feel very confident with them. Plus it's a hybrid head, no pass through, no problem ;) ! Well the blades roll forward to a 1 3/4 cut and cut on the way out.

Ramcats are great heads, Wac'Em's are great heads as well. Lots of good fixed blade heads out there now. Hey buckhunter511, those 125 Ramcats open up to almost 2" when those blades roll forward on them :) Even better, right? lol

You're right! Im thinking about the 100's I used to use

Went through gander today to find some off season deals on archery stuff. And of course they didn't have anything worth while.

I used Muzzy 100 grain heads last year with success. However, after talking to some friends I purchased a pack of Magnus BuzzCuts. I immediately tested them against each other and the Magnus penetrated further then the Muzzy. The real reason I switched was due to Magnus's Lifetime guarantee. Just send them back to Magnus and they will ship new blade back. Can't wait to try the Buzzcuts in the field.

How did you test them? Interested in these heads. Do they have much "in-flight" noise?

I took my 3D deer target and set up 20 yards for my back porch. I then took two shots, one with Muzzy and the other the Magnus Buzzcut. Please note I'm shooting Muzzy 100 bhs not MX-3! The shots landed two inches apart then I slowly removed them making sure not to move my thumb. I then compared the two side by side and the Buzzcuts went in a head length (2 inches) deeper. As far as the noise I will have to shoot them again and see if I can tell.

Take a look at the QAD exodus! Took 7 deer and a turrkey with them last year ,all fell in sight and all complete pass-throughs including a really big bodied 10 pt in northern ohio.

I saw this head the other day. After doing some research and looking at some youtube videos this head is for real. If I was going back to fixed head this would be it.
