Picked up 2 Wilgame flash cams to put on a new spot i got to hunt. Got them used and paid a fair price. Didnt want to spend alot at first not knowing if there's poachers and thieves around there.

Tried them out in the house and they flash is bright as crap. just wondering how it will affect the deer?

Most of my cameras are white flash. I have a couple that are IR. I have more deer look at the IRs than the white flash. I personally haven't noticed either really spooking the deer. They seem to get used to it over time.

I like my color night time pics. I run the white flash on scrapes and the bucks are too occupied scraping and usually don't pay it any attention. Then again it may spook some bucks but I've had mature bucks visit white flash more than once.

Deer will learn to avoid triggering the cameras.

I'd say "most" deer will learn to avoid, as "some" deer never seem to mind. I've also seen little difference regarding the so-called IR cams (which are really just visible red light), other than the red glow cams may cause more avoidance than regular old white flash.

The only way to eliminate most cam avoidance is to go with true black flash (invisible).

Put Em' up high and aim them downward .

That works, but turns your cameras into a "spot-on-the-ground" surveillance system instead of a wide-area-coverage system.

I got probably 500 picts day and night of a 4.5 yr old 150" 8pnt buck last yr with a white flash cam ,until Nov.2 he let his guard down following a pretty lil doe.

And for every mature buck that doesn't care about white-flash cams, I can show you a hundred that do.

Since he was 4.5 and stupid enough to let you get daylight pics, I don't doubt it. :D

Well must have a lease full of stupid bucks, but that may be the difference between northern deer and southern because I have a file folder full of mature bucks that keep coming back to the same cams
