Beautiful morning on the field. Had birds roosted on the edge of the field this morning. They flew down around 6:15 and i began the old song and dance. For the next two hours i worked three Tom's around a 60 acre field. They were with 6 or 7 hens and while they gobbled over and over they were hesitant to leave their ladies. Finally i get them committed to check me out. When they got 100 yards out a heard of cows decided they liked the grass between me and my birds. Well this detoured the Tom's from my anticipated attack point. Long story short they surprised me on their new approach path and i misjudged the distance. That dang carbon express missed by 4 inches. Still an overall good day though.

Man, it sounds like it's been rough so far... These toms are elusive creature I have found and throw a bow in the mix makes it that much tougher. I was lucky enough to have everything come together on Saturday. Hey Third times a charm, still plenty of season left.

Well i got nothing to complain about. Killed my first bird this season with a bow and have seen birds everytime I've been out. But i am learning that there's allot more to turkey hunting than i previously thought. One thing is for sure though I'm hooked on chasing birds.!
