Fletching Arrows: Chore or Fun?

Chore mostly. But it's a chore I don't trust anyone to but myself and one that I can do how/when I want. It's also a chore that can be satisfying. Instead of just being glad to be done, you can know it's done right and looks how you want it to.

Fun, I like working with my hands, I can experiment with different vanes and feathers, and if requested can give customers the colors of their choice from sports fan to just standing out.

I don't mind fletching arrows . I also cut my own shafts to make sure the ends are squared off good , and the inserts are seated squarely . Something I have found to be very inconsistent at proshops . That leads to wobbly broadheads that don't spin true .

Bingo...most shops are not near as detailed as we that do our own work areit's just not profitable for them, close if often good enough in a lot of cases. Fletching is a combo of both to me....it is just a part of it.

I enjoyed it more when I was younger. I roll my own because I don't trust anyone else to do it for me.
Speaking of which I got a dozen 2317's in the mail over a month ago and I haven't fletched a single one yet.
