I've been told to flex test carbon arrows before shooting. I do this occasionally. How often do others do this and do you do it at all?

I generaly only flextest if I see a blemish on the arrow that is not obviously ruined.

I'm glad you posted this because it reminded me to share and experiance with you. My wife has been shooting Gold Tips with camo wrap on them. I noticed a spot where the camo was worn through so you could see the carbon, however it didn't appear to be damaged. I flexed it once, twice, then rotated it 180* and it snapped with the third flex and I didn't have to bare down on it too hard. It really surprised me. So yes inspect your arrows and if you see a blemish give the flex test, rotating the arrow.

I flex check each time I go shooting. Ive saved myself a couple times and it sure makes me glad I checked

I just came up from the basement where I gave my six practice arrows a flex test......Now I only have five practice arrows....
One of them shattered with a small amount of flex....
I read this thread first at work today and it reminded me to check my arrows...

Methane, Thanks for the reminder...I owe you one!

Walking back from the target I am always flexing arrows!! Its now habit! Do it!
