Football talent across the state

Keeping up with recruiting, especially in this state I've noticed West Tennessee doesn't produce a lot of FBS talent, Memphis kicks out 3 or 4 every year and you can probably double that counting the rest of West Tennessee but the major bulk of the talent is in and around the Nashville Area with all the big Knoxville schools(Webb, West, Central, Fulton, Catholic, Farragut, etc.) producing the second most. The only school in West Tennessee that constantly produces several major D1 talents each year is Whitehaven(Memphis), I wonder why there is that much of a difference?

Just a guess, but I would say academics.

Been in middle TN all my life (42 years) and its hasn't always been that way here. However it has definitely produced some athletes over the last 10 years for sure. Rutherford county alone has some awesome football if you like high school. My kids and I are going to see Smyrna vs Stewart's Creek tomorrow night.
