I have always been interested in finding a 8mm Rem Mag. Do none of the manufacturers make a version or is it a custom round/gun. Never seen one but some of the guys on the NC coast bear hunt with'em and deer hunt too. What is this gun similar to, as far as brass size. Just any info on this cal would help.

Remington made some in the BDL.... There is one on Gun broker now that the seller is in Knoxville....

Dang it, if I had the 1500.00, I would go for that. I was actually expecting the price to be more. I don't like that stock, but I could get another if i could bare the money. That does'nt make any since to take a 700 classic and remove the wood, and put that stock on it, if your never gonna shoot it. Any more info?

Only know of the 700 Classic being offered in it see one every now and then at gun shows.

I reloaded for a guy who had a 700 Classic in one. I worked up a load for it, and it kicks pretty dang good. His house got broken into. I don't know if he ever got the gun back or not. I still have dies for it and some 200 grain Nosler Ballistic tips.

Get you a 7 STW......same round necked down to a 7 mm bullet. More speed, better selection of bullets to load for, and easier to find factory ammo for if you don't happen to reload.
I agree the 7mm STW is a hoss.

Thanks doc, thats the info I've been looking for, although not interested in the 7 STW. That does give me some sort of idea of what I'm looking at.
Do they even make factory ammo for it, I've never seen any. I was wondering where I would find brass for it, when the day comes.

Nosler and Remington both manufacture the 8mm Remington Mag cartridges. Prices run about 40-60 dollars for a box of 20 depending on the bullet and manufacturer. 8mm Remington Mag brass is no problem to come by from wholesalers. It may not be in your mom and pop store but it can be had if you plan in advance.

wasn`t the 416 the first case of that run??

good friend of mine had a BDL 8mm and a 4-12 VX-ii and it was nice,he shot it of a bi-pod from the hood of his truck with the legs in the grove between the hood and fenders and broke the front of the stock off,he traded for a 338/378 .crazy son of a gun..
