In a river hopefully!
Maybe you can send me a crow recipe!
and here is the rest of the story......
I just installed a new Timney 3# trigger on my 700 7mm-08. I thought I would take it to the range yesterday and run some "cheap" ammo just to see how the trigger works. I had a box of 140 grain Core-Lokts laying around that I was going to shoot a few rounds to test the trigger and foul the barrel before I start chronographing the new Barnes TSX 140 I just reloaded with Varget of varying powder supplies.

Maybe I should just shoot Core-Lokts! 100 yards Off a bench with a soft cooler and Frog Togs underneath.

Looks like I got the lands correct on the new TSX vs the Core-Lokts.

The TSX's need to be atleast .050" off the lands or a max COAL of 2.800" (to fit in the 700's magazine), whichever comes first. She seems to like the Cor-Loks pretty well. Especially for a factory loaded round.

I've loaded several ttsx that were just off the lands. Shot great. Other than the tip is there any difference

Funny you say that as I have seen several guys do something similar to you; just going to run a few down the pipe to foul it and voila they love how they shoot. IMO, they are the best "value" for an over the counter bullet if you just want to shoot/kill deer. Just about every rifle I have owned will print them to my liking and they performed good in the field back when I used them regularly.

The ammo isn't bad, it just isn't up to what I can produce and want to carry into the field.

Think of it as TASCO and ZEISS scopes. Nuttin' wrong with Tasco. But Zeiss is demonstrably better.

I personally know a special person, my grandmother. She is 86 now and has hunted with Core-Lokts for many a years... killed many a deer.
They work in her Remington 700 243, yeh I will inherit that rifle one day.

So yeh I would hunt with them for sure.

The original Core-Lokt bullets have killed as many deer as any bullet in the world.

They are not referred to as "the deadliest mushroom in the woods" for nothing.

I would dare say I have killed more than half the deer I have shot with Core-Lokt's, it was all I ever shot before getting started into reloading. Still use them in one or two rifles.

Theres nothing wrong with the corlokt bullet it foes what it's designed to do no different than any other soft point cup and core bullet.
