Former gator catcher Mike Zunino is on pace for the worst offensive season possibly in MLB history.

If the season ended today, his .168 batting average would be the lowest among qualified players in the last 100 years.

He's still looking for his first hit this month. Folks it's August 12th. He's 0-25 with 9 strikeouts.

Another the gates can be proud of...

It's ok Gator FSU has a catcher in the news also , some guy named Buster Posey. :tu:

Dang, talk about a slump.

I feel for the manager. Does he keep giving him swings to try to dig out of that MLB history-making season, or does he never get another swing again, thus solidifying his position?

And what about the pressure on the poor guy while at the plate? At least one positive in that 0-25 streak, is that he must have at least put the ball in play on 16 of those at-bats, so one would think he would get a bad-hop single or bloop hit somewhere.

I almost feel sorry for the guy!
