Now the lockout is over, free agents will be scrambling to sign within the next 30 days. Freddy is the biggest name. If the Braves don't sign him, they deserve to lose forever. He's the heart n soul of that team and has been for YEARS. Even when they were bad, he never wavered. Keep him!

I hope they come to a agreement.

Braves have threw out a 5 year $135+ million deal and freddie said no thanks. Reports say his looking for over 200 million. For 6 years

Maybe they can meet in the middle.

They was many of times chipper could have left for more money in his 19 years as a brave.

A 5 year 140 million deal he would be a top 20 paid player annually in the MLB.150 five year deal he would be top 15.

200 million 6 year deal his looking for would move him into the top 10 highest highest paid players annually at this moment.

Seeing freddie in another uniform would hurt, but if the Dodgers throw 210 million at him and want to make him a top 6 paid player in the league at 33 the braves won't match it.

They just reported today the braves are being aggressive trying to bring Freeman back offering different $ amount and years .

We know he turned down 135 million 5 years I bet the braves have offered much more then that. Hope he don't keep saying no

Looks like they couldn't get a deal done.

Atlanta just traded for a 1st basemen Matt Olson.

35 doubles 39HR 153 hits 88walks and 111 runs last year. 2x gold glover and a Atlanta kid. His ranked a top 3 1st basemen heading into 2022. His about 5 years younger making 12 million a year Fred turned down 27million a year we know probably more then that.

Braves get him for atleast 2 years

Hate to see freddie walk, but looks like braves came out ok.

Hate losing FF. Kid is a baller and loyal. Hope the new guy pans out. Looking like Freddie may be a Dodger. That would sting.

Yeah go to the team that caused his braves so many problems while he was there. holding up his new 205 $ million contract.
I am hoping for Ya'll it works out like when Pujols left the cards to go to the angels. He may have a year or two like what he was but after that you will be glad you didn't get him on that contract.

I say the Braves will be alright with the trade they made. I get that Freddie is the face of the Braves and what seemed to be a great role model for younger players and kids but he's from the west coast and I would say he's swinging for a huge contract for two reasons. 1. Is to make as much money as possible in what will probably be his last extended length contract IF he plays well. And 2. I believe his wife has the biggest influence in the decision cause all off season she's been posting how they've been out on the west coast and loves to be back. He's a heck of a ball player but I think he's a better mentor that will be a hard loss to replace.

I see alot of people bashing the braves front office Because they didn't get freddie.... I think they tried. They gave him multiple fair offers in my opinion for a guy turning 34 this year. If he wanted to be a brave he could have. making around 30 million a....I just can't feel bad for a guy who said 27- 30 million a year is not good enough to keep playing for you.

Yea I think those folks think Freddie is the TEAM. He's a awesome team player but not hardly the TEAM and carrying them during the season. He knew Atlanta was not going to pay that insane money but if they did then he was a winner in the deal either way. I honestly don't think he'll get 30 million a year that he's asking for. I believe he's just waiting on the right west coast team to be serious in wanting him and then he'll make a fair deal. There's NOT a single ball player on the face of the earth worth anywhere near $30,000,000 a year but that's just my opinion. Heck they're not even worth $1,000,000 a year cause it's just entertainment purposes and not something that helps the world to around.

He turned down 27 million a year. Braves offered 5 years $135 million he said no thanks. They later said Braves offered deals with different money amount and years freddie said no.

Everyone was saying he seeking a 6 year 200 million payday. Which comes out to over 33 million a year.

Would put him about 7th in MLB highest paid annually.

More about location than money I think here. Money is always a factor but, I can respect someone wanting to be closer to family. Totally get that. The days of a fella playing out his career in one city are gone. No different than me shifting jobs to WFH, or make more money, etc. Totally respect it and thank him for the memories. Best wishes to a class act.

Hate to see him go....wish him the best....but Atlanta has a solid young team that's going to be exciting to watch...and Matt Olson is no joke....so we'll see....and they just signed Collin Mchugh from the Rays to pitch....1.55 ERA over 64 innings last season.... Atlanta can use that arm
no doubt.....go Braves!

Yeah I was just about to post that signing.

Braves got a good first basemen and a good bull pen piece both on 2 year deals for around 17 million annually COMBINED.....Last rumor I heard Freeman was looking at a 5 Year185 million deal that's 30+ million annually. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets more then that.

We'll never be able to take away the stability that freddie provided and being the middle of the turnaround of the organization.

But he was offered a contract that would have made him the highest paid dude in the middle of a team that is built to win for the foreseeable future. And he left.

Thankful for what he did for us, but in the end he didn't want to be here.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

I have been a baseball fan all my life. I absolutely LOVE baseball, but I'm about done with MLB. Every great player that becomes a free agent goes to the Dodgers or the Yankees. It's sickening.
It's the woke nonsense creeping into sports that has turned me off. I used to subscribe to MLB Extra Innings and baseball was constantly on in my house. Autographed balls/bats/jerseys lined the wall of my office. Now down to a couple pieces and no games on TV. Everything has to be political and push an agenda now. Even grown men in pajamas playing a game. Hard to change what I've known for 43 years but, I have.
