I figured I would have to go down there near the edge of Ole Long Swamp to get an unbiased opinion..... :)

Uncle Smokey's opinion is normally right on since he spends most of his days resting under the old Oak Hammocks and chewing on Spanish Moss. The red bugs sure does mess his stomach up sometimes.... :)

I finally caught up with Uncle Smokey this evening and he wasn't in very good condition. It took me awhile to understand Uncle Smokey but once he started spitting it out, it was as clear as mud. He started pointing with a shake in his hand and started mumbling out loud. He was pointing at a long ditch near the edge of old Long Swamp and kept waving his hands around. I finally made it out that he was talking about the trenches...... :)

He mumbled to me that UTooth didn't have enough lead in their pencil in the trenches. He told me that he already sent his 6 person Jacuzzi full of ice to TN for ole Worley Bird. Also he mentioned that Hurrrddd was too tall to play tailback and they needed to move him to TE.

At this point he was starting to fall asleep when he gave me the magic numbers.... He shouted out that FL would win 34 to 17 and that CBJ would cuss out the refs a time or two.... :) When I walked away, Uncle Smokey had faded back asleep. He had a smile on his face and was wearing his 1996 N/C T-shirt..... :)

I decided to catch up with Uncle Smokey before Friday night because that's his big bingo night. I left his place with a smile knowing that this game is in the books.

I did end up calling my cousin Willie a few minutes ago because Uncle Smokey kept doing something I didn't understand. Uncle Smokey kept pointing at his toes and nodding his head. Willie explained to me that Uncle Smokey was trying to tell me that he had 10 toes and that meant the gators would win 10 in a row.... :)

Your family tree sounds like you need to graft some branches on it before the power company comes and hangs some wires on it.

Uncle Smokey did once point at a power pole and told me that it had more branches than our family tree. He told me not to worry about it because if I moved to TN that the family trees there looked like a cane poles.... :)

Okay.... I got a collect call this evening from Uncle Smokey from the pay phone at the local diner. He was hoping that he could get the game on his AM radio in his 1972 F-100. Uncle Smokey doesn't have any power so a normal T.V. or radio are out of the question.

He told me that they would celebrate the Gators win by doing a little bungee jumping out of an old Oak Tree. He told me that they bought some heavy duty bungee straps from the K-Mart so it shouldn't be a problem this time. I reminded him that he should have some gas in the F-100 incase that he broke his legs again.... :D

Looks like they will be celebrating in North Florida tomorrow evening.
