Been out at public places all over E. TN, trying to get on turkeys again and can't seem to get anything going right for me. 5 years ago to the day I killed my first bird on some public land. Been hunting heavy as I can since, and havn't got a shot on another. Any tips and tricks anyone has for me? Or maybe some better public and WMA's I can go and get my next bird?

seems like they are henned up right now and i hunt east tn too. give it a couple weeks and the gobbling will probably begin to start up more again and theyll be more susceptible to calling

Gah I sure hope so. I had two hens come within 10 yards of me yesterday morning, they stayed there and good 30 minutes and left. I was hopin a Tom was close by, I waited for about a hour and a half. And never seen anything else the rest of the day.

I just gotta get on this finding a good place to turkey hunt. I've got my honey holes down for deer, seems i just can't pull it together in turkey season though.

Well one good place for deer, Get online to the Ft. Campbell site, closer to deer season, request the permit, there is a 20 fee, but there were some absolute MONSTERS taken up there last year.
