Buying an older used bow is like buying a used car. It might clean up nice and look like a classic but you are still inheriting someone else's problems. At least it feels like it anyway.

Trying to eliminate all issues kind of like throwing parts at a car you aren't sure what's wrong with it. Was shooting it today and discovered a few things that need to be corrected:

1. Catch in my release so new one is on the way. Delays the release of the arrow
2. Ordered Sims S-coil Stabilizer / dampner to reduce noise.
3. Waiting on Saunders Buzz-Off Slide String Silencer to reduce noise.

And finally I'm tweaking...Anywhere else and that would sound really bad. I have amblyopia (lazy eye) and am severely left eye dominant and extremely right handed to boot. Makes for a heck of a combination. The problem is I don't see angles the way other people do. I mean I see them but...oh heck it's just hard to see if things are level. This would all be solved if my new sight had a level...which it doesn't. It's a Truglo Brite-Site. Looking at their website the Brite-Site Extreme has a level, so my question is this. Does Tru-Glo make a replacement that I could add to mine? Is there a level attachment for bow sights? Can I take a level vial and "attach" it to my sight...Or do I step back and punt?

They make a level that will fit in the grove of your sights that attaches like another sight pin. They also make some that just stick on. Also, when was the last time the bow had a new string and cable put on it. I would suggest trying to find the spec of the bow and seeing if they are what they should be. If it's been a long time since it's had a new string and cable, they may have stretched quite a bit. That will cause noise. Also, even if they are new, find what the specs are and check. Most of the time even new ones need a twist here and there to be exactly right.

That's great, where would I get one? I had the string / cables checked and was told they are reasonable shape.

Did they check the ata, brace height, draw length, and poundage of the bow to make sure they were right. You can't just go by how the string looks and if it's frayed or not. It can look fine and still be stretched or not twisted right to start with, and have the bow out of tune. As for the level, I know you can get them on ebay. Cabela's may have them, as well as, a place like bowhunter's superstore.

Give me a holler and I can check ur specs and do some twisting as needed and also can get some strings made if you need them !u got my #
