I had a really good second round , although my score doesn't reflect it . I ended up 6 up but I had absolutely 0 left and right misses . I missed 10 or more 12's by less than a half inch high . I just couldn't bring myself to take a yard off and risk shooting 8's . I ended up 38th for the tournament and I guess not bad for my first ASA in open C .

On the other hand , one of the guys I'm with Calvin Dykes is at 22 up in known 50 and sitting in 3rd .

and that's after only halfway . He shoots his final round tomorrow morning

Those guys have it figured out for sure; and are on a whole different level than I am in shooting. I thought Open C would be a lot easier than what it was...after all, it's still known yardage and only 10 more yards than Bow Novice. But ohhhh what a difference those 10 extra yards make. I just don't have the vision to be able to see the 10 and 12 rings from back there. Its like I'm shooting blind instead of shooting for 12s. And on the close targets where I can see the 12s...its a crap shoot on what order you get to shoot the targets in. If you are last on the easy ones, those top and bottom 12s are pretty much covered, leaving you with the choice to play it safe with a 10 or chance a glance off and go for the 12 anyway. I didn't make this shoot, but everybody that was in the group I shot in @ Florida, finished in the top 20 at Benning. They were some great shooters for sure...schooled me big time.

I should be at least 4 up in the geezer open class. I had at least 6 arrows within a shaft's width of the bonus ring. I shot one 8 a wee bit low chasing a 12, another 8 with too much gas, and glance out that gave me a stinking "5" . So I wound up shooting a 5. I shot 195 on my first round.

I was pretty much coming into this one just hoping to shoot up . I would have liked to have shot a little better in my first round. My second round I couldn't have shot any better and they just weren't dropping that last 1/4" into the 12 . Lol I had alot of fun and I finished up a little .

sure is , has taught me everything I know .(which isn't much ,but he doesn't have much to work with here) . And is one of the best shooters I've ever seen . Hoping he has a good day today and makes the shoot down .

I finished 8 up for the weekend in Hunter class which earned me 3rd place. What a great feeling!!
