Do any of you guys use these heads?? If so how do you like them? And how sharp can you get them? I can't seem to get them very sharp. Thanks

I've used them for three or four years and mine are razor sharp. I like them and know that several of my buddies use them and prefer them over other broadheads. 100 gr.

One of my hunting partners is using them this year. Bagged a doe on Monday at 25yds complete pass through and broadhead / arrow in excellent shape. Then he took a buck on Tuesday at 30yds from the ground and again, broadhead in great shape.

I got 2 deer last year with them. I have no problem getting my sharper with a diamond block and ceramic stick.

you know how we check BHs in bowed class with rubber bands? I check mine with old bicycle tires tubes. thicker rubber, if it cuts that, good to go.

Helped track a deer today that was shot with the G5's. Not impressed with the holes or the blood trail. Double lung shot and not much blood. That was only one deer though. Like any of them(BH's) try a few times then decide.

Did you or Tyler shoot one ? :)

I was really leaning towards the montec, till I tried the slick trick. The extra blade on the trick sold me, more blade more slicing.

I've been using them for 3 years now and am very happy. They fly great and every (only 4) deer I hit with them was a pass through and kill.
In order to get them razor sharp, I use a fine flat diamond stone. It takes about 50 good strokes on each of the 3 "sides" to work the angles down, but once you get them that way they're extremely sharp and touch up easily.

I shoot each of my hunting arrows with the broadheads on them to ensure they all fly the same, then touch them up before putting them back in the quiver. I shot a turkey Saturday morning, touched the blade up in just a couple minutes and hunted agin in the afternoon.

They also came out this year with a carbon steel G5 Montec. They are even easier to sharpen and get VERY sharp. My son is trying them out.

Good luck with them, I'm sure you'll like them.

This will be my second year using them and am very happy. I killed 3 deer last year with them. Last year I shot a doe at 25 yards through both shoulder blades with these. I love these broadheads.

They fly great but I could never get them as sharp as I wanted. Like Radar said, I'd go with the Strikers over the Montecs if you want to stay with G5 products.

I couldn't get them as sharp as I like so I gave them to Double Drops :D

He told me he was helping somebody else with a trailing job, not one of theirs. You know what BH he shoots :D

Well isnt this just JIM DANG DANDY! I just bought a set of montecs this week. I havent gotten them in the mail yet, but you fellas sure make a man feel good about his investment...LOL  Maybe I can fool with them till I get them sharp. My A.D.D. kicks in and before you know it, i might have some strikers...LOL

I agree, they are not the sharpest head out of the package but I like the one piece design, wish they were wider.

I sharpen mine on a flat diamond block and finish up on a ceramic stick.
