Seems we are on the subject of broadheads , I thought I would like to add another great broadhead to the mix . The G5 Striker is a good replacement , fixed blade head that is extremely sharp , accurate and strong.
They are low profile and fly as good as Slick Tricks , but are much sharper out of the box . The only disadvantage compared to Slick Tricks are the 3 blades vs. 4 for the Slick Tricks .

That is what I shoot. Mine always hit the same as field tips. Have only had to replace two blades. One because I shot two broadheads in the target and hit each other. The other had a pass through hit a rock.

I tried out some Strikers last year and they are excellent broadheads. They are probably the sharpest out-of-the-package heads I've used and they fly extremely well.

I've never used a G5 broadhead, but I did buy a pack of the Small Game Heads by them. I think they are made out of the same style steel. At any rate...I hope their broadheads hold up better than the Small Game Heads. I shot 2 ground pigs with them and didn't hit anything more than dirt behind them, and broke the little wings off of both heads.

But I was looking into some 85 grain heads, and the Striker came up as a top candidate for me.

Try the Strikers . I don't think you would be disappointed . You can't compare them to the small game head . ;)

Radar, do you know how they hold up after the shot? My Slik Tricks didn't hold up nearly as well as my old Thunderheads; the T Heads I could always just sharpen the blades and shoot two or three deer with them. The STs always came up with the edge rolled over or deeply gouged. After two years with them I've gone through 9 sets of blades. At that rate, I'm seriously considering the G5 Montec or NAP Hellrazor.

My dad killed a doe last with them and on the pass though hit a rock and amazingly didnt harm the head at all. I think the tip on the strikers has a little more beef than the ST's. I shot strikers for a while but never hunted with them.

I have never seen a slick trick blow up. That steel ferrul and alcatraz locking system is the best design I have ever seen on a fixed balde head.

The stikers have interchangable blades right??

I think G5 makes a Solid bladed broadhead forgot wht its called but I'm not mixing these up??

I have used the montecs and they weren't durable and the blades were pretty dull out of the box.

These aren't even close to the Montecs . Check them out at your local proshop . They are very sharp . ;)
