A friend of mine has some g5 broadheads, and missed a deer with one last year, and now the tip is slightly damaged.

Would this head still fly true as a practice tip?

Thinking about buying some for this season and would like to shoot em first

No , they need to spin true in order to fly straight . Ask him if he will let you shoot one of the good heads . Just put the dull blades in to practice .
