I thought it would be helpful to start is own thread.
How are you guys getting your accounts setup? Are you using your main personal bank account? A secondary entertainment bank account? Main credit card? Prepaid credit card? iTunes gift card?
If it's accepted, I would think a prepaid card would be safest for personal security.

many said, don't link a checking account. I used to do that with Bodog, then later Bovada and never had an issue. When I set mine up this time, I set it up on my checking account, but I am in it all the time, to keep up with my wife's spending, so I will see something if it is out of place.

I tried to set up an account through Bovada last year using a prepaid Visa card, then a prepaid Mastercard travel card that I had to purchase through AAA. Neither worked. Apparently after 911 they cracked down on prepaid cards funding offshore accounts because people were using them to fund terrorism. I didn't want it linked to my checking account/me. I suppose since the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) of 1992 was struck down, back in the Spring there wouldn't be any legal issues linking it to your personal account(s) as long as you were paying taxes on your winnings in accordance with State and Federal laws.

I may open a separate checking account prior to bowl season, but until then its pretty easy for me to drive down to Tunica and place a bet or two.

Oh, Bovada's customer service recommended a cashier's check to fund an account, but I never tried that method.

I figure within a year it will be much easier and we won't have to deal with offshore accounts.

I have always used my main checking account with Bovada. I have one several times. I always take out the majority of my winnings.
