I have a feeder that runs off a 6 volt lantern battery. It has a trickle solar charger, and so far its been running for about 1 yr with no intervention from me, other than adding corn.

One of my gripes with game cameras is dealing with the batteries. Does anyone make a game camera with a solar charger? How hard would it be to modify one to put hook up a solar charger, such as on my Bushnell camera?

Any body experimented with any of this?

I haven't done a solar charger. I did wire my Wildgame Innovations IR4 up to run off a square 6 volt battery. It wasn't had at all. I don't know about other cameras but this one used 4 c's wired in series, which should be 6 volts. I think all I had to do was take the camera apart and hook two wires to the negative and positive coming off the board and hook them to negative/positive on the battery. The hole time I had it out summer before this one, I used the same battery and it was still showing 50-75% when I pulled it from the woods.

Pics please. Looked at a charger today. Bout 30 bucks. I can buy a lot of batteries for that, but if I could make it work, it'd be worth the trouble.

The camera is out in the field right now. But , I will get you some pics as soon as he brings it in.
