Wife bought some garlic concentrate to spray on the fruit trees. Supposed to be extremely repellent to bugs. Turns out the sheep hate it too and quit grazing under the trees.
Wonder if this would work on young/early plots to keep the deer from mowing it to the ground before it gets established ?
Anybody ever try something like this?

I've seen people go to extraordinary lengths to try and protect plots from early browsing, including installing solar-powered 2-strand electric fences around their plots.

Personally, for fall plantings, I try adding an annual plant that is highly preferred but will die with the first freeze. This takes the browse pressure off the true cold-season plants in the mix. Normally I will use Buckwheat for this, but I've also seen cheap soybeans used for this purpose.

Unfortunately, I've found no plant that will serve the same purpose for my summer plantings.
