Well yesterday I got all my calls out and conditioned them chalked them up etc. Made sure all my other stuff was packed up and ready to go thermacell, pruning shears, locators, headlamp. Tuesday going to spray down my stuff with permethereine. And go pattern my two guns and spray down my stuff with permethereine. Not calling for rain today but it is pretty gray outside so don't want to take any chances. Winds are gusting at about 20 mph so don't want to pattern today either

Yeah I just hope the weather holds this Saturday like it is supposed to and we don't get rain here. According to the weather channel it is supposed to be decent but everyone knows that weather here in middle Tennessee changes hour to hour. That is just about the only thing my time in the Army has made me hate is the rain. I will hunt in it but only from a blind.

What do you condition your glass with and slate with? Does green or red slate factor?

For all my slates I use green Scotch Brite pads, I use this on all my strikers also. For my glass and crystal I use a stone like the one in this link. Just make sure you only use the Scotch Brite and stone in one direction from 3 o'clock to 9 oclock, don't go back and forth. Also with slate I carry a lighter because they sometimes will absorb moisture. Hold the lighter about 6 inches under them and you will see the moisture evaporate.
