Well like in other post I've been getting ready for this up coming season. First I'm picking up my new 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger American tomorrow or Friday. I'm changing my game up and going lighter. Age has a lot to do with it but mostly I want it.🤣 Second going to spend more time a field learning. Turkey hunting is ok but it gives me more time to check things out.
Been offered a new area to hunt 80 acres private land and need to put boots on the ground, Mountain hunt. Last keep shooting bow, muzzleloader and rifle. This should keep me busy till season starts.

Good luck more time in the field or shooting our weapons of choice only make us better. Especially when crunch time pops up. I've blown 3 opportunities in 5 years on some fantastic mature bucks. Over not being a better shot. Of course where I hunt I'm not shooting in a field. Back in the sticks makes things a little harder. But if I would have been shooting more in the off season that wouldn't have been a problem.

I hunt hardwoods bow and muzzleloader season and depending on how many I have taken and what I'm seeing I move to the hay field powerline rifle season.

I appreciate your excitement but I'm still recovering from last season! I'm not even thinking much about turkey season yet. I guess if I had my own land it might be different. We can't even set foot on our lease until a week prior to the opener. But you go man! Keep us all excited.

It gives an old retired man something to do. People tell me all the time I live deer hunting 365 days a year. Be sides family, church and coaching HS Softball deer hunting is my life.

Why is that the rule???

Ames Plantation is a working plantation and they have farming, cattle, field trials and research going on constantly. The extra traffic from hunters outside of the seasons causes too much congestion. I wish it wasn't so but it does give the animals a break.

Just finished my 38th season on the same piece of ground. And I NEVER know which tree to sit under!
I must admit, when I said that I didn't at all mean as far as deer movement. My motivations have shifted strongly towards meat acquisition and relaxation in the woods. My spots on my place are chosen more for the view and calmness. Occasionally I shoot a deer.

I just finished my 28th year on one peice. And we have other farms for not as many years on them. It changes yearly and I love it. It's addicting as much as I love hunting now til October is my favorite I love the off season work more then hunting. I take a break in turkey season I love my turkey season and turkeys.
