Getting started in reloading?

One of the Kits of your choice.

Would give the Lyman kits a look over as they offer a good case trimmer in theres.

RCBS Rock Chucker.

I use a Lee hand press for about 90% of my loading and I'm always impressed by how well the darn thing works. Sometimes you do need a bench mounted press with lots of leverage, especially if you full-length resize lots of cases in one session, but since I neck size mostly brass from my own gun, the hand press is perfect for me. I rarely load more than 40 rounds at a time but it would get tiring if you did high volume. I can put my whole setup on a TV tray in the living room instead of spending the evening out in my cold shop with the loading bench. I bought a kit back then, but now days I`d get a Redding or older RCBS Rock Chucker. I`d pick out the priming tool and powder thrower, scales, and all by merit. It will cost a bit more than a kit, but if you start replacing certain items in the kit it may even out.

I too mixed and matched to suit me. Press is a RCBS turret. It is nice in that I can leave two cals chucked up, puller & throw if I feel like it.

I like my RCBS rock-chucker supreme...it is two hands up on my 15 year old RCBS partner press. One essential tool in a reloading 'kit' is a good caliper. Too sad that none of the major makers offer a full-kit the full part being that a caliper is included :(

I have an old RCBS rock chucker press. Bought as a kit. Case
trimmer, calipers and other equipment are mix match. Started
out with Lee reloaders.

Check them out, most will last a lifetime.

I had rather mix match.

Wouldn't it be nice to be filthy rich and set up a large reloading room with a whole row of presses and case trimmers each set up to do specific loads.

A couple of guys were nice enough to invite me over to show me the ropes. Not sure if they want me to say who they are but I really appreciate it guys. Im really looking forward to getting into this, ammo prices have gotten way to high.
