Went to pull a few cams and timed it to glass the last 45 minutes and believe this guy may make pope and young and onto my hitlist. What yall think he'll add inches wise from here to hard horned.

Hard to say for sure but I'm gonna guess that deer won't quite make it to P&Y. I'm far from an expert but by this time of year all they typically add in my area is a little more tine length. I also try to judge very conservatively when a deer is in velvet because I've been fooled so many times in my younger years.

I'll need to see him in person to give you an answer with any confidence, please send GPS coordinates. Ha! J/K! :tu:

I agree with the guys above, he will be close, but he will lose 5" of gross score or so when he sheds his velvet.

Good luck with him if you decide to pursue him this fall.

Looks mature to me, but as far as P&Y it's going to be close...he doesn't have big growth balls out on the ends of his tines which usually indicates he's almost done growing. Now each deer is unique in his genetic makeup and he may surprise you in the next 2-3 weeks. From my experience tine length/growth is finished by the first week of August and the remaining 30 days or so in velvet is dedicated to the hardening process. Take my work with a grain of salt though because I'm no biologist, simply my observations and opinion. Best of luck with him if you do decide to pursue!

I got him at 122 as an 8 but he might have a 9th G3 poke up that will get him to 125. I did reduce my mass measurements a good bit too. Gonna be interesting. Gonna sit on him mid August to follow up so stay tuned fellas.

Nice mature buck, I don't believe he'll make P&Y even with the velvet on. He might though as I tend to undershoot bucks just a little.
