Just getting into reloading and wondering what the group thinks are the go-to websites, youtube channels, or message boards. I don't plan on doing anything fancy just basic loading information for 5.56, 308, and 300 Win Mag. Might add 9mm and 44 mag in the future. My goal is to not have to rely on the limited supplies and current prices. Of course now that I am starting to reload expect ammo prices to return to almost normal soon, 🤣 .

Niota, a small town between Athens and Sweetwater. I plan on hitting up a few gun shows to see if I can find some large rifle primers for my 308 and 300 win mag, hopefully, some powder too. I don't buy enough bulk yet to justify the hazmat fees for a can of powder and a few primers if I can find it locally.

Primers are pretty well non existent at the store. You'll be highly disappointed if you buy from an individual. If you come to cookeville I could help you out with a few primers for the 300.

Should have posted this thread this past Friday, just went through Cookville Saturday. I have a bunch of small rifle primers (2000ish). Looks like there is a gun show in Knoxville this weekend at the Shriners Temple. I may bring my firstborn and a couple of hundred dollars to see if I can find a couple of cans of powder in a few hundred large primers.

Since you are starting out try to keep a roster of your work. For example:

1. 223
Bullet type 1.
Powder
Primer
brass
charge weight
COAL
results:

There are as many variations as you need but the thing is make it so in ten years you can look back and see that xx grains of HXXXX did not work so good.

Or, that COAL of 3.341 is the exact value you MUST have in order to achieve Mr. Big accuracy.

Its a great hobby and one you will enjoy.

A young man and his wife run
BrassmanBrass.com
and when they have inventory it is generally priced within reach.

I have acquired thousands of pieces of brass and bullets from them and not a single issue of any type have I ever had.

As a suggestion....keep your eyes peeled for 9mm 115 and or 124 grain FMJ in 1,000 count order size. Same for brass and small pistol primers. Can't speak for 44 mag, on your own.

As MUP has said, he has a routine he follows in the search for resources at reasonable prices. Develop your own list and start seeking. Join all the web sites you visit. Use a single unique credit card. Build shortcuts that go DIRECT to the page you want to look at. So one click and you are lookling at 9mm projectiles at Joesbullets. Some places I visit 3 and 4 times a day.

If you don't you'll be seeing a lot of the out of stock notices.

And as mentioned elsewhere, when the clouds are drawn back and reasonableness returns, don;t ever be caught short stocked.
