What do use to locate birds or get shock gobble after flydown?
Let me clarify some cut and yelp on turkey calls others use crow, peacock, hawk, etc. What has been your most successful method in the past?

we all r hunting turkeys but it is what each one prefers. i my self will do it all and try it all never know what will work. i have had alot of luck with the owl call in the middle of the day just try to get them to talk to me so i dont walk miles before i here one just 30 mins from where i came

Crow calls can locate a bird and give you time to set-up,cuttin,cluckin or yelpin is fine but I want that bird to stay put and give me time to get set-up before he comes in looking for the hen.

No locators for me, I yelp, cutt, cackle, and cluck. I am hunting turkeys not crows or owls ;)

you are missing out then.i have had turkey answer a crow call and not turkey calls.it has let me move on a lot of turkey and keep up with where they are with out using a turkey call and having them come in as I was moving on them.

You are all missing out if you haven't tried a peacock call...If there are no peacocks in the area this seems to work good for me...I hate to admit it but hooks got a point...If I am walking around on a windy day trying to locate birds I use a high pitch box call...IMO

i use a turkey diaphram to make a peacock, or the never fail coyote tube howler. and i only use those to find one at sunrise, after that turkey calls.

Woods Wise peacock is hard to beat. I like to ease in an area and start w a hawk call, just in case there is a turkey nearby. I then try a crow call. If no response, I bust out the peacock call. If I have my gear w me and have a decent place to set up, I'll use a loud box or slate call. If I can get a gobble I'll move into position and use a mouth call.

I have always had better luck by just cuttin or yelping.
Don't think I have ever had a turkey gobble at a locator call.
