Gobbler Down @ 7:30 This A.M. (pics)

My just turned 12 year old son Luke killed this gobbler this morning from the Double Bull. We never made a single call, I set up where I've watched gobblers strutting for the last week. Plan worked to perfection, 10 yard shot, and on to the greasy spoon for a good breakfast. He killed a jake when he was 8 and nothing since, a 4 year drought ended today with his first real gobbler, 1" spurs, 9" beard, Montgomery County.

That is awesome!!! I absolutely love seeing a young hunter harvest an animal. We had 6 good birds at about 50 yards , but my little girls gun is only good out to about 35 at most. Still had one of the best hunts ever getting to see her get excited at ever gobble , lol. She's decided she wants to spend the rest of the weekend with nanny and papa , lol , and I havent been able to find another youngster to take. Guess i'll get try my luck next weekend.

Cogrsts. That is fantastic! Our hunt did not turn out as good young lady that I took missed her bird at 25 yards her first ever hunt, but she is ready to go back next week.
