Gobbling this morning.

Had s buddy text me saying they were hammering this morning. Sure is a sweet sound.
 
I love that sound! I'm anxious to turkey hunt, but I'll be danged if I'm gonna wish my life away any faster than it's going..lol
 
Ive heard three different birds on the lease several times this year. I like it on slow days so in my mind I can think about how I would get on them and where they are headed.
 
if I hear one now, I will be distracted from deer hunting, in a temporary daze wishing it were spring. I hope it doesn't happen... that sound gets me in a turkey mood and I've still got deer to kill...
 
Ive got about 50 hens and jakes in a pine stand bout hundred yards from me right now. They are carryin on so loud i can barely hear anything else.

As I get older, the years go by faster and faster. Simple mathimatical percentages.
At 10 years of age, a year equals 10% of your life.
At 20 years of age, one year equals 5.
At 50, it is down to 2%.
See, it goes by faster.

Country music has it right with "You're gonna miss this" and "Don't blink".

It is very common for them to gobble during the fall. It has to do a lot of time with them getting everyone together for winter, after they have been scattered during summer and early fall.

I think I have heard turkeys gobble every month of the year except August.
