Well, I always take a weeks vacation during turkey season to hunt and absoutley love to turkey hunt (even more than deer hunt.)

BUT, I was informed by my better half last week that we will be spending that week in Panama City Beach Florida celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary (April 11th.) I told her that turkey season was going on then and why don't we wait till May.....well the look I got said it all. I figured out real fast if I wanted to see 21 years I should shut up, pack a bag and put my feet in the sand for a week this year...LOL.

Anyone know of any good turkey hunting spots around the Panama City Beach area????

Tell her that Panama City Beach will be overrun with drunk spring break college students and that you should wait until May until they all clear out.

If that doesn't work then order a surf rod and reel online and fill the cooler with cold ones and kick back!

Luckily my wife loves turkey hunting so she wouldn't ever schdule something like that, she even wanted our wedding to be on September 15th so we could go on our honeymoon and be back for opening of bow season

Might try the Weather Channel tactic...hurricanes and crazy tidal surge can be right threatening that time of year. Might convince her it's better to go a week earlier or later when it's less dangersome.

Congratulations on 20 years!

Amazing how much power wives have...

Just depends on who wears the pants in the family, and who picks them out....

You are right and after reading this post last night and sleeping on it I decided this morning that I would put my foot down and tell her how it was going to be.

I told her that I was not going that week, didn't matter if she already had reservations or not. Told her that it was going to be my way or the highway and that I was the boss of this house and what I say goes. I told her Grizzly on TnDeer said I should put on my big boy britches and show her who is the boss here.

She asked me "Who in the he!! is Grizzly??" I said, he is a TnDeer member that wears the pants in his family and said I should do the same....Her response was, it would be a good idea that you go to work now before you are living with Grizzly or another TnDeer member.....

I would say it went pretty good, guess I showed her how things were going to be..

Oh, and by the way I just ordered me a new pair of Crocs for the beach because she said I needed a new pair..   :D :D :D

Its a hard life! Somebody is making me go to Florida to surf fish in lieu of going to work for a week. I'm gonna have to miss one or two days of a seven week turkey season! lol

 ...there is a little place down there called Dusty's that has some very good seafood and cold beer too...it is going to be hard to occupy my time while I am there.

there are some "ok" areas around there to hunt but nothing fantasic. prob you best bet is going up to Niceville or over to Egland AF base if you really want to hunt.
