Chicken of the woods?? Looks like it to me.
I found one several weeks ago but unfortunately it was too large and tuff. I wish I had found it earlier.

That's right. I salvaged maybe 50% of this one. Was a week or so late on finding it.

I didn't take any. I sautéed it with onion and garlic in olive oil. Splashed it with soy sauce and put on bed of rice.
