I've had an assassin and an insanity that I bought both of them second hand and been very impressed with them. Finally got me enough money saved up where I can go into a shop shoot some bows and buy a new one. Who are some good bowtech dealers around mid tn and what can I expect. Never bought a bow from a bow shop before. Will they set it all up for me or what do I have to buy from them for them to set it up for me? Any dos or donts like bowshop etiquette. I'm pretty much going to start over this year all new equipment and really build a set up thats perfect for me.

I don't know any in that part of the state. Sorry, wish I could help. There is a definite benefit in dealing with a good shop! They will ensure the draw length is correct for you, the draw weight is correct for you and that the bow is tuned correctly. There are a few good "bow" guys here such as radar, rickym and crow that will be able to help you with the more technical questions. I depend heavily on my shop with the technical stuff, therefore I can't give good advice as far as setting a bow up.Good luck.

For my time and $$ you can't beat the Archery Den. I have worked with both Jeremy (owner) & Ray for several years and both are top notch. They have a great selection of bows to choose from and you can shoot in their indoor (11-12yds max) range until you are tired. Let you feel the draw cycle, back wall, after shot feel, etc... Then once you decide they will measure your DL and start getting you set-up. Peep, loop, site, etc... when you walk out you will be ready to hit the range. Happy hunting!!

Don't just limit yourself to one brand...shoot as many as you can get in your handBowtech, Mathews, Elite, Prime, Hoyt, PSE, etc... You may have to go to different shops, but I would go to as many different ones as possible. You're lucky, because around Mid-TN you can find almost every bow manufacturer out there within an hour drive of you. Every shop will set it up for you, but some do a much better and a more detailed job of getting it tuned and setup for you than others.

Have heard about archery den and I planned to go there to shoot the chillr. Anyone heard anything about dickson sportsman shop he is PSE and Bowtech wanted to shoot the new PSE DNA too just kind of shopping my options probably gonna do some looking this weekend. Anyone know of an obsession dealer around here would really like to shoot the evolution they have too. Also what do I need to have with me I assume just my release?

I'd take my release to make sure you get a good feel for draw length etc... and any other accessories you may already have that you would like on your rig.

Assuming that your going to keep using the same release and arrows I would take your release and several arrows with me. The release you are used to will give you a better feel between models. And your own arrows will allow you to get an even and fair judgement of the speed of each models if speed is on the upper end of what you are looking for, reason is more than likely each shop will not have the same arrow for testing. One may use a light weight one to bump up the speed. And shoot the bows set at the poundage you are going to shoot. Shooting a 70 lb bow turned down to 60 lbs is not going to do you any good if you going to shoot 70 lbs. Good luck and shoot as many as you can cause the name on it don't mean a nothing if it don't fit ya.

Im a bowtech man myself and I always use Taylors archery in tullahoma. Good guys who know their bowtech. They also carry Matthews.

Ended up going to dickson sportsman they are pse matthews and bowtech the 3 main bows I wanted to shoot. Ended up leaving with a new rpm 360 set up and ready to go. Was very impressed when I left and would recommend them highly.

Taylor's Archery in Tullahoma is a great place to buy from. Professionally set up and great help. They will answer any questions you may have. Straight shooters too, not just salesman.
