I wound up buying a used Switchback XT a bit ago. I didn't like the site on it. In fact the only thing it came with that I was going to use was the rest.

I needed a sight, quiver, release, arrows.. the whole 9 yards (I haven't bow hunted in 8 years).

I decided to drop in to the local archery shop today. I told them my story and he said he was happy to help. He really went through every single thing with me. He let me try three different sights and about 4 different releases. He adjusted my draw weight right where I wanted it, and let me try about 5 different kinds of arrows.

He spent nearly two hours with me, and didn't pressure me in to anything. In the end I wound up going with a Montana Black Gold Rush sight, Easton Axis arrows, and a Scott Little Goose release. The prices were fair, and he charged me nothing for the time/setup.

This is what an archery shop should be like! I was thoroughly impressed.

Road trip? :)
Glad to hear that you had such a good experiencegood for them!!!!! It is getting less and less common to hear and is the reason why so many of us have started doing all of our own work.
