Good grief

Are you at least seeing sign? Scratching, feathers, poo, tracks in the roads? Reason I ask is that's when I knew I had a problem some years ago...wasn't hearing any birds because they simply weren't there.

I feel ya. It is rough here this as well. Bad as I've ever seen it. Very very few gobblers alive.

Man, I don't know. I had the best gobbling of the year this morning until about 7:30 or so when someone flipped the switch. I know I heard 6 different birds.

If you didn't hear them today, it might be time to find other options.

It's getting worse instead of better. 5.2 miles walked. Not a gobble heard. Not a turkey spotted. This is beginning to wear on me.
We're in the same boat. I hunted yesterday and didn't hear a peep. I went all over my 400 acres. Walked over 3 miles. Only a few hens on my cameras. When I showed up yesterday I could not believe the green up. Areas in the pines where I could see 150 yards I can now see 50. I couldn't hunt this morning but I'll be there in the morning. I'm fearful the green up / thick up has pushed my birds off to greener pastures. Literally. I might be at LBL next weekend.

I hunted 250 acres this morning. Very little roost gobbling, none I could go after or call to me, nothing after fly down, and zero hen talk. It's like they don't even realize it's April.

Went over 3 Miles this morning and didn't hear a peep but my buddy was 3 Miles away and had 3 gobbling until flydown. Sometimes, just have to be in the right area!

Well if it makes you feel any better I've been in gobbling birds for hours two days in a row and cannot do anything with them. Hell sometimes they quit gobbling immediately when I call to them. Or hang at 100 yards because the woods keep getting killed back by the every other day freezes. This season has been a bear so far

Same story here, the birds are there, seeing sign and occasionally bumping birds, but no gobbling, nothing

I have seen one tom and heard 2 gobble all season long. I had to let the dude walk at 25 yds, because he was on my neighbors property that abuts mine. Talk about adding insult to injury.

I did see 4 Jakes on Public land yesterday and tried to stalk them, but got busted at 75 yds or so. I wasn't sure if they were toms or Jakes, am I'm still not 100% sure, but they looked like Jakes running off, so I'll go with that.

It's not been good on Ames this season either. We should have lots of birds but the weather has them off their game. The club has killed a dozen or so gobblers but it's been tuff for me with some days hearing nothing and other days with great weather only hearing a couple and mostly quiet after flydown. :bash:

Same here I haven't heard a bird gobble more than 5-6 times all season. Have zero toms roosting on 2 farms 350 acres together.
