I killed this one yesterday evening. It was just a blind set up, nothing gobbling. I just set up close to where a gobbler had been roosted that morning and made a few yelps and set back. About 20 minutes later this gobbler came in silent and hung up at around 60 yards. I knew I could kill him at 50 but wanted him to get alot closer. After an hour of half, he literally had only moved 10 yards closer. I was sitting in a bad spot on a steep hill and my butt had been slowly sliding down from the base of the tree til I was in sort of a slouched shooting position LOL I couldnt move back up or the turkey would probably see me so I just shot like I was. Luckily the turkey got the bad end of the deal but I ended up with 7 stitches from my scope. Makes me want to go back to a bead LOL I didnt weight it as I was getting stitched up but it had 8 inch beard with beard rot and 7/8 inch spurs. Killed with 835 tactical, 3.5 inch Hevi 7's , Kicks .680 choke and Cane Creek Mr. Death mouth call.

Holy crap, I bet that smarted, lol.
We have all done the same thing at one time or another.
Hope you heal quickly.
Nice bird!!!!!

Wow...makes me glad for my front/rear truglow set up. Those 3.5s pack a punch no doubt.

I'm gonna look at an Eotech just because not feeling the shot in my shoulder for a day and half would be nice (too much baseball when younger)
