Late getting into woods. Around 8:30. Got out of truck and had walked maybe 200 yds. A dog barked and he gobbled from a long ways off. I pulled out a call and hit it, he gobbled. I found a place to set up. Got a Jake and hen decoy out and sat down. Called to him again and again he answered me. Hit him with a call again with same result. I quit calling. 5 minutes passed and he gobbled. This time a lot closer. I responded to him with a call he double gobbled. I sat the call down and got ready. He gobbled 2 other times coming in each time he was closer. I saw his fan coming over top of hill. As soon as he topped he hill he saw the decoys. He broke strut and ran straight to the Jake, hitting it so hard he knocked it off the stake. Needless to say he does not remember anything after that.

I think a single Jake and hen setup is my favorite. It doesn't always work out drawing one in but when it does there usually fireworks that come with it...sounds like an awesome hunt. Congrats!
