Got me a new...

The Glen Del Buck is a great target cause the insert is a cube. It can be rotated many more ways than the standard two sided insert. I gave the Glen Del to a friend and bought a Rinehart Woodland buck and kinda miss the Glen Del. I'm on my 3rd insert with the Rinehart.

My field points pulled out very easily. I am a little reluctant to start chopping it up with broadheads yet.

Yeah it won't last very long with fixed blades. I tried that and it chewed it up pretty quick. What I do now with fixed blades is confirm POI shooting at a different target entirely. If its good I only shoot field points at my 3D buck. If you shoot mechanicals, the practice points don't chew them up as bad.

The Glendels are nice, but they just don't last for what the money you pay for them. Get a blob target and you can hammer away with FP's and BH's all you want and it is a lot cheaper down the road....and actually cheaper up front. I know I have way over 2,000 shots in my blob and you would never know itexcept for the center where everyone came over and broadhead tested with it, but it still hasn't punched through and stopping arrows with ease. .

I hope you like it. I hate mine. My brother inlaw bought one a couple months ago because he saw I had one...he never asked how I was liking mine. Now he hates his too. It stops my wife's arrows good though...38 lbs @ 27" draw.

On a side note, the new Blobs are horrible and nothing like the ones from a few yrs ago. To illustrate, I was doing a 30 arrow 1/2 round shooting at a Vegas style face paper target that I tacked to the Blob in a never before shot spot on the target. After about 18-20 shots in the X, my arrow was driving to the fletching. Shooting standard size carbon arrows with 120 grain target tips @ 60 lbs. The old ones would withstand hundreds...even thousand of arrows in one spot like that.

That sucks about the new blobsI wonder what changed? You might want to PM Headhunter, he is a dealer for them here in Mid-TN and ask him what is up with them. I guess I won't be recommending them anymore until they get the problem fixed.

I got.mime brand new in the early part of this year from "blobmeister" on Archerytalk. I drove to Calhoun, GA to pick mine up...mine is the big "irregular size" Blob...weighs about 200+ lbs.

I don't know what changed. They are just carpet waste material that is compressed...so it could simply be that particular run of material was soft. I noticed that about it right off...the material is more soft/foamy feeling and less dense than the older ones I had.

Love my Glen Del! Had it for quite a few years now. Just turned the insert around the other day. Thinking about buying another one since my son has started shooting a bow.
