I got my Summit Viper via UPS yesterday and got it put together and worked on the basics at ground level today. It was pretty easy to put together. I am getting pumped and need to practice breaking down the stand and setting up in the dark. I also need to work on getting up to 15 feet and practicing shooting from that height. It is very comfortable to sit in. Now I need to determine which hunter safety vest to get.

Take your time with it. You made a great choice on the stand. Did you buy it new? If so, I'd just use the harness that came with the stand.

I understand, check into the Treestalker. It's a good one for the money.

If you don't mind to spend a little more, the Pro series does feel good.

They are nice stands . For bowhunting , I like to adjust the pad on the seat as high as possible on the upper platform , then position the upper platform (level) just above your knees or what ever is the most comfortable for you .
This will give you the most clearance and prevent your bottom cam from hitting the bar surround. When shooting , make sure you have the upper platform secured tightly with the strap so it will not move or fall when you put your legs against the bar to shoot . Remember to bend at the waist when shooting downward to maintain proper shooting form and prevent high shots .
