Went out about 10:30 this morning after hunting Saturday and earlier this morning hearing no gobbles.
I got to the spot I normally set up to listen for them at about 11:00. I called on and off for about 10 mins or so and I see his red head coming into field and into the woods i was in. His head popped over the hill at 15 yards and the mossberg let him have it.
I knew it was a jake when I heard him try and gobble when he was coming in.
Hunting with my uncle to start and he past away almost 2 years ago due to cancer. But this being my 2nd season hunting turkeys hard it feels great to finally get one.
Had about a 4 inch beard on him.
Now what's a good way to cook up the breast?
