So far this season I haven't been able to hunt much. All but opening weekend of muzzleloader my daughter has set with me. She missed her first shot last weekend and she has the fever. She was unable to go with me this evening and boy do I miss her. She's eleven and struggles to be quiet and sit still but I enjoy being in the woods with her.

I fully understand. I'm sitting out here on a field edge by myself for one of the few solo trips so far this season. Wife and kids had some crafting workshop to go to, so I was flying solo at the house regardless. I had planned to take a kid with me, but alas…

It's both nice and sad at the same time. I won't be able to hunt with them for too many more years. Taking the Dude tomorrow morning to sit in the shooting house with a buddy heater. It'll be fun

Antlers really don't mean much to me. Even though I usually have a better chance at better deer flying solo, I'd rather give most of those opportunities up for time with my kids. I only fly solo a few times per year anymore

Enjoy getting out there with her, my 3 daughters all went with me over the years. Youngest daughter is 17 now, she hasn't gone this year yet. My 11 year old son has finally said he wants to go, hoping to get him out on some of the better weather days this coming week. With his autism, has to be an open stand for him with absolutely no possibility of spiders.

Well, just like that … not gonna hi—jack, but
