1 day can change everything..... last weekend was proof for me.... Fri, Sat.... No roost gobbles at all... Sat, gobbling every hour or so from 8 till about noon.... Sun, gobbled on the roost very good... 3 different toms... Saw the biggest turkey of my life when he flew up into a tree "looking" for the hen he was hearing.... at 68 yards, all I could do was sit and wait... he eventually flew down the opposite direction (guess with the underbrush, he couldn't see the decoys).... best part, had a witness!!

Yep

I heard more roost gobbles in 1 morning this season than I ever have in a mornings time, but the very next morning I didn't hear a bird from daylight til 9:00 when I gave up...lol
 
haha...9? thats a quick give up!...lol...i at least try to stay until noon....if nothing by then, I am gone.

That's several miles and a few good hills climbed....

So when it turns more into work and the fun starts deminishing for the morning I'm done :)
 
i need the walks and exercise so I cant complain. lol

fortunately the little slice of land I am hunting isnt very big soooo.... :)
