I started my year with my grandson "lake" on the first juvy hunt and we had 2 toms attack our decoy right off the batt. Too much excitement and a missed opportunity and from then on I've spent most of my week-end trips trying to make it happen for him. We have been in birds most every trip but never quite the right situation until Friday after school as time was running out. We set up in a field edge and soft called for half hour when three birds appeared across the field and spotted our decoy. They came 200 yards straight in and Lake closed the deal! Hooked for life and his grandad is so proud!
