I moved in here at the beginning of June and see the occasional turkey...today I was cleaning up the remains of fireworks and came up on two hens, each with an impressive clutch. I didn't get very good pics but here is a part of them, doesn't show all the birds. They were a lot bigger than quail....

amazing with all the fescue around here, that there are any turkeys at all. Stir stir

I didn't even count but I'd say it looked like at least 8 poults for each hen

Good deal. I'm seeing lots of poults here in East TN. I saw a hen with 8 poults last weekend. They are the size of a grouse and can fly very well.

Yea it's a pond not a river, I'm working on stocking it with bass and catfish. The duck or harpeth would be nice too lol

Seeing a lot more hen with poults now. It had to be a late hatch over all.... most I'm seeing are less than a month old. About the size of a softball.
The duck is a mile from my house.

That's awesome man. Looks like you've got yourself a good hunting spot when they grow bigger. I've seen a few groups of poults around lately with a hen and I'm glad to see it. Of course, now that it isn't Turkey season I'm seeing them all over the place. Figures!
