This is not a good thing for College Sports. What do y'all think should be done?

Somebody in their book store should be fired.

From another article it's a one-game suspension and the players had a choice of the FSU game or the next game against a conference opponent.

I think this is a little higher than the person working in the bookstore. The Athletic director should've know this and had plans in place and made sure it was clear.

First:
You would think the computer program that recognized the payment used by the athletes would be smart enough to not authorize purchases of x, y, or z.

We know this exists because we see it in the food stamp arena.

Second:

These are College students who don't know the rules under which they accept money? They don't have mandatory signed off sessions where they are taught what to do and not do? Where mis-use of the funds could result in penalties that could ruin your athletic career? Cause you to lose your scholarship?

Some responsibility needs to fall on the college athlete's head and whomever in the coaching hierarchy didn't see fit to teach these students before they screwed themselves into such a mess.

"This is the second time in two years I am ineligible to participate ....." Sounds to me like some college football players need to grow up and learn accountability and responsibility. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I guess mommy (and maybe daddy) weren't there to tell little Johnny how he should spend that money that someone else gave to him for his college textbooks. It would be nice if my college freshman daughter's school gave her book money and she would know how to spend it. She knew how to spend the money I gave her for her books. Just another example of pampered college athletes. I doubt they spent the leftovers on paper and pencils.

I also believe the payment to play vs FSU should be cut in half or forfeit the game. The athletes had a choice of which game, should be next week. This would maybe teach the school a lesson also.
This game won't help FSU with this exposure.

That's just crazy. There is a lot more under the table money going on in College Football than to worry about school supplies.
