Just kidding, heard one bird on the roost this morning and he was a LONG ways away on another property. Struck out and came home.

Heard two gobblers fighting this morning and one of them gobbled one time!! :mrgreen:

Went with a buddy and got on one. Bird got to 15 and he couldn't shoot. Ended up spooking. Heard 1 other but he got shot before we could get to him. Had 3 Jake's with 2 hens and just seen another 2 Jake's a minute ago. Trying to find the bird that spooked now

Now 3 misses is just pure frustation.
I went to spot where a hen led a gobbler away yesterday. No gobbles at all, but did have a couple of hens feed by. They didn't make a peep.
A little later I heard yelping out the ridge. Pretty sure it was the same one from yesterday who yelped a lot. Anyway, she kept coming. I had clucked and purred a little. She started to skirt to my left, but some soft yelps brought her back. She soft clucked and purred all the way to 10 steps right in front of me. She then yelped right in my face looking for the hen. I had had the gun up facing left where she had been, and could not move. I kept scanning behind her hoping the gobbler was drifting behind her, be he wasn't. She then took about 5 steps away from me and hopped up on a log looking for the hen. Anyway, it was very cool.
Will close out the season in the morning before church, hoping to play the game one more time.
Good luck to all giving it one more go.
On a positive, the weather should be perfect!

Nothing again today but I expected that.
I've never been so many times in a row and not hear a Gobble. I'm not sure what kinda mood they have been in this year but I'm aimed to make them pay for it next year [emoji12]
I'm hoping to get to try my buddies farm in the morning before church. I've not heard a bird there this year either but I'm going to try it as long as he gives me the ok.
It has a few fields on it and he bush hogged them for pasture. Maybe they will come out in them pretty quick and will work.

Talked myself into going this morning, and was greeted with the same plague I've been dealing with for almost 2 weeks. Complete silence from daylight until I have up at 3:00 pm. Worst end to a season I've ever had and it's truly inexplicable given the amount of sign in the places I'm hunting and the numbers of birds in there early season.
Payback will be savage come next spring, hope they enjoy the little bit of life they have left

I have heard at least 4 this morning. Was on two together but a hen came over my left shoulder saw me but still went to them and led them off. 30 mins left in my season although I may come back this afternoon.
