Birds are hammering on the roost EVERYWHERE this morning! I have heard 6-10 different gobblers. Hard to say exactly cause many of them are far away and faint but I've prob already heard 40 gobbles. Let the games begin.....

As usual, they mostly went silent after pitch down. Maybe heard 7-8 gobbles since. One fired off twice about 15 minutes ago, he wasn't too far off. Maybe 150 yds. He might have been a jake. I have had an emergency call at work so I won't be able to stick it out much longer. Going golfing with dad later so at least the day isn't wasted. Good luck to everyone

Congrats on the bird. Bet that was awesome to hear them gobbling like that this late in the season. I ain't heard a gobble in some weeks now.

Congrats on a awesome bird man...I ain't heard a gobble since second week of season.

Lol. Congrats. You get him to fire off on the way to the truck or was he sitting in the driver's seat when you come out? I thought you was leaving.

lol, actually as soon as I stepped out of the truck this morning, he fired off about 125 yards away and was pretty much roosted at the road. I started down the road towards him but thought naw, I'm gonna go on to where I planned because I thought for sure he would head to the hollar I would be in. He never gobbled again until I said he fired off right before I was ready to go. Sounded like a jake but I think they were just together. Headed towards them (on my way to truck more less).... cut the distance in half and he fired again. With the way the ridge rAn, I was able to go another 30-40 yards and as soon as I sat down there was a hen headed my way. Then I seen him and one more hen. Shot once and he took a couple of hops and stopped. Second shot found its mark. He was no further than 50 yards from the paved road I came in on. Worked out nice. 3 hunts on this particular property this year with 3 kills. I called in one for my buddy and I got the other two. I've only hunted 4 trips this year so I'd say I have been blessed. Prob try to call in one for my buddy next weekend.

Awesome congrats! Be glad just went a whole season on 300 acres prime ground without one roost gobble.

Turkeys have been blowing down the woods in South Cherokee these past 3 days. Cranking up good between 9 and 12. Several gobblers alone now and very killable. Killed a hard gobbling 2 yr old this morning at 9:15 that came "fast" from over 250 yrds . Waiting for a buddy to post pics :)

LOL, I wondered what happened during that gap between your posts of 6:39 and 7:21 :) !

Congrats!
