Handgun question

And 18-year-old can buy a handgun in Tennessee in a private sale or possess it. Buying from an FFL requires the buyer to be 21. Thats because its Federal law and gun dealers (FFL's) doesn't care what state you are in, its 21 to purchase a handgun.

If you buy it from a gun dealer, you would have to buy it.

From what I understand you have to be 21 to buy a handhun, but 18 to pocess one. I want to get my son one for Christmas. He is not 21 but he is 18. How do you legally go about this?
Just buy it and give it to him. Perfectly legal for you to buy a handgun for your kid and gift to them. Not considered a straw man.

Basically, the same as buying your 7 yr old a 22 rifle.
