So how is this not a recruiting violation? Load up the whole team and come to Florida for spring break! That's an inducement lots of other cold weather teams would love to have. :tu:

Yep, because IMG is a FSU pipeline. One of FSU former QBs was a coach at IMG... :tu:

Correct Gator. Weinke left for the Pros and now the man in charge is a Hurricane I believe. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

It isn't yet, but probably will be next year.

You have to give the guy credit for pushing the envelope. All the greats do it!

I'd like to hear what OHVATN thinks about this. Harbaugh beat Meyer to the punch. :tu:

I think Harbaugh is a creepy, weird dude but in a mad genius sort of way. I also think we'll be putting up with his various shenanigans for another 3 years maybe and then he'll bolt back to the NFL.

Don't see what all the stir is about. I only think his players miss out on college Spring Break, which is a part of college life even if it is just to head back home. Yet, if you are playing baseball or another spring sport, you are most likely going somewhere south for Spring Break games. All the commotion this has caused in the SEC is hilarious. Will the SEC Commissioner order all football coaches to go man checkpoints at the entrance to the state borders? I thought this was a free country and if a creepy, weird football coach of a university that can definitely afford it wants to have a week of Spring practice in south Florida, what is wrong with that? All I ever hear about from SEC fans is all that national championships that Alabama has, I mean SEC teams have, won in recent years and all about the top 10 recruiting classes, but some oddball up north wants to shake things up a little and you would think it is the end of the world to the SEC, its commissioner, coaches and many fans.

shake things up? lol JH is jerk, a weirdo. He can do great things at mich without being a jerk. But whatever

I fully expect Ohio State will do something similar for Spring Break 2017.

Urban Meyer to hold camp in Jacksonville,Florida

It will be interesting to see how successful Michigan and Ohio State are. If they are successful, more schools from the Big10 with the money to do so are sure to follow...PSU, MSU, Wisconsin, Nebraska...

Do SEC schools with the money to do so have a go at it? Bama, Auburn...hell, all of them...?

FSU will have their Spring game in Orlando. Will we need to move it around to compete? Maybe not. Will some of these teams move their games around?

One thing is for sure, they have the money to do so. Curious to see if any of the ACC schools compete for recruits in this manner.

That's a "satellite camp" to be held sometime in June I think. Ohio State had a satellite camp at FAU in Boca last summer. MSU is reported to be looking at doing a similar Spring Break for part of their Spring Practice this year in FL or TX.

Despite what cur thinks, Ohio State has had top 5 classes in 4 of Urban's 5 years (the 2015 class following the national championship being the #7 exception). What's being done is working well. Michigan has been horrible since 2001 and Harbaugh has to shake things up I guess and it has worked to a degree given the media adoration of the guy, but 42-13 losses to Ohio State are what matter. Urban has said he's watching what Harbaugh is doing and although he said he "won't be having sleep overs" he is curious about the Spring Break camps. Right now, it's if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The SEC outcry is hilarious. It's all about the children! It's all about the student-athletes! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: SEC schools could do the same thing, but the SEC has a rule against it. Why? Don't know. That rule should be changed. Spring Break weather in south Florida or south Texas in mid-March is much better than it is in TN, GA, Oxford, MS, Columbia, MO, Columbia, SC at that time of year. But, other than LSU and UT, no SEC team rarely plays a game outside of the south so why travel for Spring Break?

Gotta keep the edge. What if Kodak, Sun Microsystems, Blockbuster, and hundreds of other great, leading companies of their day had copied their upstart competitors? Saban, Meyer, Fisher, Harbaugh, etc. All of these coaches are copying each other, meeting with each other, constantly changing things up to keep their edge and keep ahead.
